Refurbished theatre auditorium with immaculate burgundy velvet seating
Refurbishment & Re-Upholstery

Refurbishment Often Costs Far Less Than Replacement

A tired auditorium rarely needs new seating. New fabric, new foam and rectified frames restore comfort, appearance and compliance at a fraction of replacement cost — and usually in a fraction of the time.

Scope Of Works

Every element of a seating asset, restored

Refurbishment is delivered on site by specialist fitters, or off site in our workshop where large volumes or complex frames make bench work more efficient.

Fabric Replacement

Contract-grade upholstery fabrics in your specified colourway, tested for rub count, flame performance and cleaning regime.

Foam Replacement

High-density moulded foam seat and back units restored to original profile so comfort and support are recovered, not just covered.

Armrest Repairs

Replacement armrests, end caps, pivot pins and writing tablets brought back to full working order.

Seat Numbering

New seat numbers, row letters and aisle plates applied or engraved to match your house plan and ticketing system.

End Panel Repairs

Damaged end panels, aisle panels and understructure rectified, refinished or replaced to match the surrounding rows.

Deep Cleaning

Specialist extraction and sanitisation of foam and fabric where seating is serviceable but tired or soiled.

Craft & Specification

Re-upholstery carried out by seating specialists

Stripping and re-covering seating is not general upholstery work. Each frame type has its own fixings, foam profiles and fabric tolerances, and the difference shows in the finished row. Our teams work only on venue seating, using fabrics tested for contract environments and backed by documented fire performance.

  • Fabric selection support — colourway, durability and cleaning
  • Foam density specified to the seat's original load profile
  • Sample seat completed and signed off before the full programme

10–15 years

Typical service life recovered by refurbishment

Benefits

Why venues choose refurbishment

Cost Savings

Typically 40–60% of the cost of a comparable replacement installation, with the same visual result.

Reduced Disruption

Works completed in short closures, or in phases section by section, so the venue keeps trading.

Improved Appearance

Matching fabric and foam across the auditorium restores a consistent, well-kept house.

Extended Asset Life

A refurbished seating asset typically serves a further 10–15 years before replacement is considered.

Sustainability

Reusing existing frames and understructures retains embodied carbon and diverts tonnes of material from waste.

Compliance Maintained

Fire performance, fixing integrity and accessibility provision checked and documented as part of the programme.

Next Step

Ask us what your seating estate actually needs

Many refurbishment decisions are made on appearance alone. A survey tells you which seats need work, which are serviceable and what the whole programme will cost.

Refurbishment enquiry

Tell us the seat numbers, current condition and any closure windows you are working within.
